jerusalem temple mount dome on the rockA Jewish man and his daughter were recently arrested, him for moving his lips and her for nodding her head, as if praying, while on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem!

A strange story that raises questions about the hostile perception of Israelis and their treatment of Muslims. I have often wondered why, if the Israeli government is so horrible towards “Palestinians” – and I’m not ignoring the bloody battling of the past several decades since Israel’s founding – they allow the Dome of the Rock to stand and Muslims essentially to control it? If Israelis are such “evil Zionists,” would they have not blown up the Dome by now and booted Muslims out of Israel?

Apparently there have been plots by Jewish fundamentalists to do both, but there has been some sort of restraint, it seems, since these acts have not happened yet. Hence, it appears egregious to paint Israel in general in such tyrannical terms as we see abundantly around the net.

To my knowledge, Muslims can pray freely on the Temple Mount, Judaism’s most sacred site. Yet, here a Jew is arrested for moving his lips?!

The whole affair makes Israelis appear far less sinister and powerful than is a common perception.
