Israel versus Palestine: Back story facts most people don't know

In discussing the latest flareup between Hamas and Israel, the Wall Street Journal article “How Israel Helped Spawn Hamas” is being bandied about as if it is proof that the Mossad deliberately created Hamas. Even though I’ve been observing and studying this subject for DECADES, including having been indoctrinated into “leftist” pro-Palestinian, anti-Israel propaganda over 20 years ago while listening to the Pacifica radio station KPFK, I am being called “EXTREMELY ignorant” because I supposedly don’t know about that claim of Hamas’s creation and about how Israel is allegedly a genocidal agency bent on the destruction of the Palestinians. However, firstly, that is not what the WSJ article is about – it’s saying Hamas was an inadvertent creation based on Israel’s actions.

Secondly, whatever the case may be as to Hamas’s creation, Palestinian Jew hatred existed BEFORE the modern founding of Israel, as demonstrated by the Nazi connection to the Palestinian movement. These are the facts that the pro-Palestinian rabblerousers are themselves EXTREMELY IGNORANT about.

Note that this PRE-MODERN-ISRAEL Arab-Nazi coalition calling for the EXTERMINATION OF JEWS succeeded in destroying most Jewish communities throughout the Middle East, many of which had been there for well over 2,000 years. One never hears any ranting and raging about that fact though, does one? Because of EXTREME IGNORANCE.

The attacks on Israel are not “simply” because of the alleged brutality of its founding – yes, I read Ralph Schoenman’s appalling account Hidden History of Zionism decades ago – but ALSO because of pre-Israel Islamic and Nazi doctrine.

As the son of a Hamas founder Mosab Hassan Yousef states:

Hamas does not care about the lives of Palestinians, does not care about the lives of Israelis, or Americans; they don’t care about their own lives. They consider dying for sake of their ideology a way of worship.

By the same sort of “logic” claiming that Israel created Hamas, one could assert that the Palestinians and other Arabs and Muslims created Israel, so that they could destroy it as part of Islamic doctrine.

By educating people as to the back story for this conflict, I am not supporting any aggression, whether by Hamas/Palestinians or Israel. I am trying to impart balance and perspective, while attempting to thwart the kind of mindless rampaging in the streets and attacks on innocent Jews we are seeing in so many places globally, simply because they are Jews, while they may have absolutely nothing to do with Israel.
